BAUDL’s last tournament of the season took place April 18th at Oakland Technical High School. This was the debater’s last chance to strut their stuff before City Championships. As a result, there was a huge showing from our experienced debaters, and also a crowd of first-timers wanting to get their foot in the door before the season’s end. The size of the competition gave each competitor a run for their money, but one team managed to finish on top. The first place trophy was awarded to Street Academy’s Jessica Winsey and Tevah El Ehmet yet again! The work this team has done is truly amazing. As a team, Tevah and Jessica have fought to the top 3 times in a row! Congrats to them and to all of the teams that made this our fiercest competition yet!
Skyline’s Mya Whitaker, who has consistently been one of the leagues top competitors, was the tournament’s Top Speaker.
Every school tried their hardest to make sure they had a strong showing at this last tournament. The Sweepstakes Award was awarded to Skyline for having the overall best and biggest performance at the tournament, and Street Academy came in as the runner up. Congrats to both schools!
